Welcome to the Leeward CC Basic Needs Office!

Welina Mai! We’re so glad you stopped by. The Basic Needs Office at Leeward Community College is dedicated to supporting students by helping meet their essential needs so they can focus on achieving their academic, career, and personal goals. Through programs, services, and community partnerships, the Basic Needs Office connects students with resources related to food security, public benefits, financial stability, and other essential needs.

We believe that every student deserves equitable access to the resources necessary to thrive. Access to nutritious food, stable housing, healthcare, financial support, and educational opportunities are fundamental to student success and well-being. Our goal is to foster a caring, inclusive, and supportive campus where all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Student Support & Resource Navigation

We understand that every student’s circumstances are unique. Our team provides individualized, one-on-one support to help students identify their needs, navigate available resources, and develop a plan to overcome barriers to success.

The Basic Needs Office offers information, referrals, and connections to both on-campus and community resources, including assistance with food access, SNAP/Hawaiʻi Nutrition Employment & Training (HINET), emergency financial resources, housing support, and other basic needs services. When specialized assistance is needed, we will provide a warm referral to trusted campus and community partners to ensure students receive the support they need.
