Leeward’s Business Technology Program prepares you for employment in administrative support positions in office settings in both private and public businesses. Whether you are looking for employment or looking to upgrade your skills for advancement, our program offers you practical skills for today’s competitive work environment in a variety of business settings. You can gain entry into just about any industry as office staff and learn about a company from the inside out.

As a Business Tech major, you will acquire critical office and IT skills, along with communication and organizational proficiencies. You will also enhance your confidence and learn how to provide excellent customer service. It is the perfect path for upgrading your skills for a job promotion or career change and even continuing on for your bachelor’s degree. Ask about our articulation agreements with the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu.

Program Details

Associate in Science Degree, Business Technology (60 credits) provides for career mobility and prepares you for employment in administrative support positions both in private and public business and related industries. Requirements for the AS degree

Academic Subject Certificate (19 credits) is designed to enhance the marketability and increase earning potential of Liberal Arts students who will enter the workforce upon graduation, work while earning their associate’s degree, or continue working while pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Certificate of Achievement (31 credits) builds on skills learned in the CO-BTEC and prepares you for jobs in administrative support positions in office settings in both private and public businesses and related industries. Requirements for the Certificate of Achievement

Certificate of Competence, Business Technology (15 credits) equips you with basic entry-level skills in administrative support positions in office settings in both private and public businesses and related industries. Requirements for the Certificate of Competence, Business Technology

Certificate of Competence, Virtual Office Assistant (23 credits) prepares you with the required skills and knowledge necessary to support clients in an administrative capacity in a virtual setting. Requirements for the Certificate of Competence, Virtual Office Assistant

The time to complete the certificates or the degree varies from one to four semesters. To obtain the associate degree in two years, you have to take an average of 15 credits/semester.
