'Ala Ike Grill Menus

The Ala ‘Ike Grill is Leeward's pop-up bistro-style eatery located in the Uluwehi Cafe. November 5 marks the opening for this semester. The offerings feature the Students of Fundamentals of Cookery II from the Leeward Culinary Arts Program. The menu alternates between the two menus below. The Ala 'Ike Grill is open on Wednesday, November 13 and starting November 19, they will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm. Hours may vary from week to week.

Leeward Converts to Four-Day Class Week

This fall, Leeward will make the move from a five-day class week to a four-day class week, to the delight of quite a few students and faculty. The move comes as a response to student surveys and conducted research that showed student satisfaction increased with a shorter college week. Leeward CC is the last UH campus to convert to the four-day week.

Prepare for finals at the Library & Learning Commons! To help you prepare for Finals, the staff at the Library and Learning Commons are offering a variety of activities and resources from April 22 through May 10. Stop by during extended hours for research assistance, faculty review sessions and office hours, de-stressing activities, and snacks which are provided by Student Government. From April 22 through May 10, the Library and Learning Commons will be open 7:30am - 9:00 pm, Mondays-Thursday and 7:30am-6:00 pm on Fridays.

Earth Week 2019

The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Twenty years later, Earth Day went global, mobilizing 200 million people in 141 countries and lifting environmental issues onto the world stage. Leeward is proud to be a part of the global celebration.

The offerings feature the Students of Fundamentals of Cookery II from the Leeward Culinary Arts Program. The menu alternates between the two menus below. The Ala 'Ike Grill is typically open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am - 1:30 pm. Hours may vary from week to week. The students of the Fundamentals of Cookery II class prepare your food to order, so please allow for up to 15 minutes for your food.

Campus Climate Survey

The 2019 Campus Climate Survey is underway! The student survey focuses on addressing and preventing sexual harassment and gender-based violence on UH campuses. The survey is extremely important because it informs the legislature about overall campus environments, which in turn can lead to additional funding and resources for our students. It only takes 20 minutes max. Each student has been emailed a personalized link to access the survey. An easy way for students to find the email is for them to search for “#BeHeardUH” in their inboxes.

Pi Day at Leeward

Celebrate Pi Day with contests, prizes, and free pie (while supplies last) in the Lion Courtyard from 11:00 a.m. to 1:59 p.m. Attempt to win the recitation contest, join the random tossing to calculate Pi, create at Pi-Ku, and discover Pi activities.

Bring an empty pie pan to join the campus wide Pi pan banging at 1:59 p.m. Free pieces of pie, while supplies last.
