The Culinary Arts Program will hold its annual Scholarship Brunch on Sunday, February 17, 2020 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m in the Uluwehi Cafe and Lion Courtyard. Food service students from Campbell, Kapolei, Leilehua, Mililani, Moanalua, Pearl City, Waianae and Waipahu high schools will partner with Leeward instructors and students to prepare brunch for an anticipated 1,400 guests.

Veterans Resource Center Open House

In honor of Veterans Day, we offer an Open House for the Veterans Resource Center, located in BS 103 on the Pearl City campus.  The event will include free Flu Shots for Veterans, funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs!  Other additional free Immunization shots will also include Hep A, Hep B, and Tetanus.  You'll receive a free USAA shopping bag & goodies!  We'll also have snacks for you!

Prepare for finals at the Library & Learning Commons! To help you prepare for Finals, the staff at the Library and Learning Commons are offering a variety of activities and resources from April 22 through May 10. Stop by during extended hours for research assistance, faculty review sessions and office hours, de-stressing activities, and snacks which are provided by Student Government. From April 22 through May 10, the Library and Learning Commons will be open 7:30am - 9:00 pm, Mondays-Thursday and 7:30am-6:00 pm on Fridays.

Earth Week 2019

The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Twenty years later, Earth Day went global, mobilizing 200 million people in 141 countries and lifting environmental issues onto the world stage. Leeward is proud to be a part of the global celebration.

Free workshops on technology and today’s digital lifestyle are offered at the tenth annual GEEK DAY at LEEWARD on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Leeward Community College, from 9:30 am-12:15 pm.The College offers free workshops on technology and today’s digital lifestyle with hands-on workshops and demonstrations on a variety of digital, mobile and technology topics, from archiving your digital life to online security..  The sessions are designed for the general public. Handbell Choir Performs

Celebrating its 31st anniversary, the internationally-recognized Hakuoh University Handbell Choir performs at the Leeward Theatre as part of its 28th Goodwill Tour of Hawai‘i.   

Led by acclaimed director Hirotaka Arai, who founded the choir in 1988, the 15 student handbell ringers presents two free concerts on February 21, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Leeward Theatre.

Finals Countdown

Library extended hours Nov 26 thru Dec 4

Finals Countdown returns to the Learning Commons. Extended library hours and services, tutoring workshops, faculty review sessions, office hours, snacks are offered. From November 26-December 14, the Library will be open until 9:00 pm on Monday through Thursday and until 6:00 pm on Friday.

In addition to the extended hours, the Writing Center will offer several focused workshops and faculty will offer review sessions or office hours. De-stressing activities and snacks will also be available in the Kapunawai Room, Monday through Thursday, 4-8:30pm.

A Global Take

Connect with Leeward’s international students at the varied activities offered this week as part of the national celebration of International Education Week (IEW), November 12-16, 2018.

IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.

Create and Explore at Discovery Fair

Create. Explore. Discover. The entire family can do all three at the 28th annual Discovery Fair on Saturday, November 3, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at Leeward Community College. The first 500 families to check in at the information table will win a prize. More than 50 $50 gift cards will be given away, with several food vendors offering 50 cent food options and 50 hands-on learning activities for the entire family. The 50 theme is part of the campus’ celebration of its 50th anniversary.
