Leeward CC was recognized at the Hawai‘i Job Corps Center’s Employer and Community Partner Appreciation Celebration on January 19, 2011. James Goodman, Jake Darakjian, and Jean Hara represented Leeward as an HJCC partner for the Memorandum of Agreement between the Automotive Technology Program and Hawai‘i Job Corps Center. Mid-Week took a photo of the “signing” of the Agreement with the HJCC director and each of the Leeward reps simulating the signing (even though not one of them were on the real document’s signature lines1).
The purpose of this program is to provide Administrative Support Group members (clerical staff) the opportunity to:
1) improve their job effectiveness with one-on-one assistance with mentors and
2) to job shadow to understand other job/office functions.
Mentor: Clerical staff member (with approval of supervisor) willing to mentor on specific topics or provide job shadow opportunities.
Learner: Any clerical staff member at Leeward Community College.
About this committee
Description/Mission: Working in partnership with our community groups and organizations, this committee seeks to educate and raise awareness about what healthy relationships are. As part of this, we need to acknowledge, recognize and know about the nature of domestic violence so that our families, marriages, and intimate relationships can be healthy relationships.
Staff Development Funds
The Innovation Center for Teaching & Learning Advisory Committee awards small grants ($150 maximum) to Leeward faculty, staff and lecturers to support staff development programs and activities. Application forms are reviewed at the monthly meeting.
