The Financial Aid Office is hosting its Financial Fitness Fair on Wednesday & Thursday, March 7 & 8, from 10am-1pm on the Library Concourse.
This free two-day event features various businesses and banking institutions that are interested in educating students about various financial literacy topics (i.e. Applying for Federal Financial Aid, applying for private scholarships, learning how to set S.M.A.R.T financial goals, budgeting, the basics of credit, tax preparation, comparing loans, the benefits of buying in bulk, identity theft prevention, investing, etc.).
Our definition of financial fitness is the act of practicing smart money management techniques. Decisions students make about handling their money before and during college can have a huge impact on their future. Before making major financial decisions, students need to know about their options and be consistent in making those decisions. Learning good personal finance skills now can help them reach their goals and find success sooner. Students' life goals are important, and we want to make sure they have the money to make them a reality.
We encourage all students, faculty, and staff to attend this great event to learn how they can boost their financial fitness. Hope to see you there!
