Raymund Liongson and Kay Ono! Their stellar work and dedication has been recognized and we join in the applause.

Arts & Humanities faculty, Raymund Liongson,was selected as the recipient of the 2011 University of the Philippines Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award. This award is being given in recognition of his leadership, achievements and contributions to his profession and to the community he serves. Professor Liongson will receive his award at the University of the the Philippines General Alumni-Faculty Homecoming and Reunion on June 25, 2011 at the Ang Bahay ng Alumni, U.P. Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.

Raymund was also nominated by Governor Abercrombie to be a commissioner on the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission. His appointment was confirmed on April 13.

Kay Fujimoto Ono, Associate Professor of Business Technology, was presented the highly competitive 2011 National Business Education Association Postsecondary Teacher of the Year Award in Recognition of Outstanding Contributions in Teaching Business. The awards banquet was held at the 2011 NBEA Annual Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Friday, April 22, 2011. The convention was attended by well over 1,500 business educators from the U.S., Canada, and other nations. More details will be posted and distributed through News@UH.
