The Leeward Community College Library will be commemorating the 53rd annual National Library Week 10-16 April 2011 with an activities calendar that includes two contests and a public reading event. There are a total of seven ways to win valuable prizes in the National Library Week contests. Students may submit their proposals for a new library bookmark, and a $100 bookstore gift certificate will be awarded for the best design.
Students may participate in the Online Question of the Day, too, where the first correct answer wins a daily prize of one $5 copy card and each correct answer overall puts the student into a grand drawing for a Final Exam Relief basket of treats. On Monday 11 April, the library will host a public reading of various Celebrate Reading Hawaii 2011 books. Students from the Writing Center will read aloud their favorite sections beginning at 11:00 am in the library. There will also be a display for the entire week honoring this year's Celebrate Reading Hawaii titles. Please join us throughout the week for our celebration of libraries!
