Semester of Shakespeare

Semester of Shakespeare continues with Jonathan Reyn leads a workshop on "Costume Design for A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Monday, March 14, from 10:30–11:45 a.m. in Leeward CC Theatre.  Also this week, accomplished Shakespearean actor and teacher Jennifer Robideau conducts a lecture, "Shakespeare and the Acting Business," on Tuesday, March 15, from 12:00–1:15 p.m. in GT 105. Both events are free and open to the public.

Semester of Shakespeare 2011 concludes with “A Midsummer Day's Dream” on Thursday, April 21, 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. in the Eucalyptus Courtyard. Performances by Leeward CC Drama students and instructors celebrate the words of the age. Student-created displays depicting concepts related to the play and the life and times of Shakespeare’s age are on exhibit. Leeward’s Arts and Humanities faculty and students perform the music of the age to round out the festivities.

In 2008, Leeward CC’s “Semester of Shakespeare,” received First Honorable Mention as the Innovation of the Year sponsored by the Wo Endowment.  The events are coordinated by Susan Lum,  Professor CC in Literature and Michael Nester, Assistant Professor CC in Literature.
