HOSA Winner

Leeward Student Places First
Shaneen Northington, a recent Leeward Community College Medical Assistant graduate placed first in the state for the Medical Terminology competition for HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). 

She will be advancing to the National HOSA Leadership Competition held in Orlando, Florida in June. Six of fifteen of our recent Medical Assistant graduates competed on Monday, March 25, 2010 at the Hawaii Convention Center.

The students included Grace Tolentino (Medical Terminology), Cheyenne Ganiron (Medical Math), Janelle Hirata (Medical Assistant), Kerry Anduha (Medical Assistant). Lauren (Mahea) Romero (Medical Spelling).  Mahea represented Hawaii as the first place recipient for secondary schools (Wai’anae) last year in Nashville, Tennessee.
