Nursing Portable Building and DA Basement Renovation

Scope of Work
Contractor will 1) construct a new portable building in the vacant lot makai of the DA building and 2) renovate the DA basement. Both facilities will contain a 10-bed nursing lab, classroom, offices, and restrooms and will be used for nursing and other allied health-related academic programs.

Duration of Project
Work will commence on May 18, 2009 with contract completion on August 26, 2009.

Advisory
Campus is advised that the DA basement, the service road directly makai of the DA building, and the vacant lot between the DA building and the Automotive complex will be closed. No vehicular or pedestrian access will be allowed in these areas during the construction phase of this project except for trucks making deliveries to the Campus Center loading dock and for rubbish hauling removal. A significant amount of demotion work will be required in the DA basement. During various times of the day, there may be some noise, dust, and construction debris generated by this project. The construction work will be monitored to ensure that disruptions to the campus are kept to a minimum. Your patience, cooperation, and understanding are requested during the duration of the project.
