Create and Explore at Discovery Fair

50th Anniversary Touches add Excitement to the Annual Fair

Create. Explore. Discover. The entire family can do all three at the 28th annual Discovery Fair on Saturday, November 3, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at Leeward Community College. The first 500 families to check in at the information table will win a prize. More than 50 $50 gift cards will be given away, with several food vendors offering 50 cent food options and 50 hands-on learning activities for the entire family. The 50 theme is part of the campus’ celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Discovery Fair features new activities each year. This year includes a giant-sized version of the children’s game, “Operation,” created by the Industrial Technology program, and Hawaiian studies faculty guiding an exploration of a 10-foot Hawaiian star compass.

“This is our 28th year presenting our annual fair,” said Jenny Watada, faculty tri-chair of Discovery Fair. “Making education fun and engaging is at the heart of what we do. With all the activities offered for free, the fair is really our ‘thank you’ to the community.”

Discovery Fair entry, parking and all educational activities are free. Food vendors will offer a variety of items for purchase. Details on the Fair.
