Iconic TV Show Strengthens Ties to TV Pro program
Leeward's Television Production program received a generous donation from Eye Productions/Hawaii 5-0/CBS Television Network.
Timmy Chinn and Russel Steele, representatives from Eye Productions, presented a check for $56,724.79 to Bob Hochstein, as a gesture of the goodwill established between the tv production company and Leeward's TV Production program .
Ron Umehira, Dean of Career & Technical Education, states, "We are certainly appreciative of the generous donation by Eye Productions/Hawaii 5-0 to our Television Production program as it provides our faculty the opportunity to purchase the latest equipment that are being used in the industry. However, we are more appreciative of the partnership that we have with Eye Productions/Hawaii 5-0 as they have provided curriculum advice, best practices in the industry, and internship/employment opportunities for our current students and graduates."
Hochstein is very proud of the connection between the popular TV series and his program. Hochstein explains, "Many of Leeward's TV Pro grads have gained experience with Hawaii 5-0, including Sanoe Damon who, after 8 years with the show, is now Production Coordinator. It's great having such an established production company hire so many of our students."
