Founding Faculty Heads State Arts Commission

Barbara Saromines-Ganne with Governor Neil Abercrombie

Governor Neil Abercrombie has appointed Barbara Saromines-Ganne as the new Chairperson of the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (HSFCA) Commission effective July 20, 2011. Ms. Saromines-Ganne, who was sworn in as a commissioner on the same day, represents O‘ahu Island and resides in Honolulu.

Another Successful Pacific Region Learning Summit

Educational Media Center engaged 28 participants in this summer's Pacific Region Learning Summit (PRLS). Participants came from across the UH system with several coming from as far away as Arizona. It was the second successful year for the endeavor.

Engineering Scholarship Endowed By Delta Construction

Chancellor Cabral receives check for donation

Delta Construction Corporation and KSK Foundation of Kapolei have pledged $90,000 to establish an endowment and corresponding expendable funds for scholarships at Leeward Community College. The Delta Construction Corporation Endowed Scholarship at Leeward Community College will help students change their lives through higher education; positively impact their families and communities; and raise hope and pride in West O‘ahu.
