Pidgin Shakespeare: The True Hybridization of Braddah and the Bard

Renowned local actor, playwright, and director, Troy Apostol, recounts his experiences working in a pidgin version of Twelfth Night, as well discusses the finer points of adapting Shakespeare's work to Hawai‘i settings.

Presented as part of the Semester of Shakespeare.

Hawaii State Science Olympiad State Finals on Campus

More than 600 middle to high school students jumped into the Hawaii State Science Olympiad State Finals Tournament, hosted by our college on Saturday, March 1. The emphasis of the tournament was on advanced learning in science through active, hands-on individual and group participation.

Spring Fair Focuses on Student Entrepreneurs

The Spring Fair promotes Leeward student entrepreneurial spirit by providing a venue for students clubs, student entrepreneurs, and local small businesses to market their business and promote sales. Participants will be provided a table and space to market their products and services to the student body, faculty, and staff at Leeward CC.  Come check out the variety of student entrepreneurs and businesses that
will be selling their products on the Library Concourse!  Crafts, Cloths, Pottery, Flowers, Gifts, Food and much more!

February 27 AAT Degree Information Session

Get a jump-start on a career in Education without leaving our island home. Be a part of a growing population of students enrolling in Leeward’s Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree program. Leeward’s AAT faculty and staff will present a free information session on Wednesday, February 27, 2012 to explain the degree program and answer questions. The session will be from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, in Room GT 105.

Leeward Community College proudly announces the inaugural issue of Pūpū A 'O 'Ewa Native Hawaiian Arts and Literary Journal. The unique online journal showcases the best in original works – mele, poetry, short stories, oral histories, essays, memoirs, art, photographs, videos, animation, class projects, 'oli, hula, music -- from our campus and our community with a unique Native Hawaiian focus.  The online journal provides a creative space for writers and artists that nurtures creativity, self-expression, and innovation.

Kimo Bean Opens

Kimo Bean Hawaiian Coffee opens for business in the Learning Commons on Monday, January 7. Kimo Bean is a local company that offers coffee that is grown, process and roasted only in Hawai‘i. Initial Kimo Bean Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 7:30 am- 6:00 pm. Friday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Answers and Help on the First Days of Classes

Got questions? Need directions to your class? Drop by one of the Welcome Tables on Monday and Tuesday, January 7 & 8! Faculty, staff, and students will be available at tables at three different locations to offer friendly greetings, directions, and assistance before and between classes.  Water and snack bars will be also distributed. The Welcome Tables will be available from 7:30am-1:30pm each day in front of the Learning Commons, the Uluwehi Cafe and in the Eucalyptus Courtyard.
