February 27 AAT Degree Information Session

Get a jump-start on a career in Education without leaving our island home. Be a part of a growing population of students enrolling in Leeward’s Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree program. Leeward’s AAT faculty and staff will present a free information session on Wednesday, February 27, 2012 to explain the degree program and answer questions. The session will be from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, in Room GT 105.

Inaugural issue of Pūpū A 'O 'Ewa

Leeward Community College proudly announces the inaugural issue of Pūpū A 'O 'Ewa Native Hawaiian Arts and Literary Journal. The unique online journal showcases the best in original works – mele, poetry, short stories, oral histories, essays, memoirs, art, photographs, videos, animation, class projects, 'oli, hula, music -- from our campus and our community with a unique Native Hawaiian focus.  The online journal provides a creative space for writers and artists that nurtures creativity, self-expression, and innovation.

Kimo Bean Opens

Kimo Bean Hawaiian Coffee opens for business in the Learning Commons on Monday, January 7. Kimo Bean is a local company that offers coffee that is grown, process and roasted only in Hawai‘i. Initial Kimo Bean Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 7:30 am- 6:00 pm. Friday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Answers and Help on the First Days of Classes

Got questions? Need directions to your class? Drop by one of the Welcome Tables on Monday and Tuesday, January 7 & 8! Faculty, staff, and students will be available at tables at three different locations to offer friendly greetings, directions, and assistance before and between classes.  Water and snack bars will be also distributed. The Welcome Tables will be available from 7:30am-1:30pm each day in front of the Learning Commons, the Uluwehi Cafe and in the Eucalyptus Courtyard.

Annual Scholarship Fair Set for Jan 23

Leeward CC has partnered with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, GEAR UP Hawaiʻi, the Native Hawaiian Education Association, Kamehameha Schools, and the Pacific Financial Aid Association to present the 2013 Scholarship Fair on January 23. The afternoon offers a series of free presentations for high school students, parents, teachers, current college students, adult students, counselors or anyone interested in learning about the resources and financial aid available to students.

Leeward Student wins Statewide Drawing

Leeward student Delilah Benjamin, of Waikele, won the drawing for a new iPad presented as part of the statewide survey on Media Preferences conducted by Interact Communications. The iPad was generously donated by the UH Federal Credit Union.
