Leeward Community College Library

SFX is a tool known as an OpenURL link resolver. It keeps track of the full-text periodicals and e-books available to the patrons of the Leeward CC Library, through the various databases the library subscribes to. It works with research tools like OneSearch, EBSCOhost, and Google Scholar, to provide access to articles and e-books from other databases, or let you know if a periodical is available in printed form at a University of Hawaiʻi system library.

As an example of what SFX does, suppose you perform a search in EBSCOhost, and you find a citation to an article published in a journal that EBSCOhost does not have full-text from. You can click on an SFX "Find It" link in EBSCOhost to see if another database has that journal. If it finds that ScienceDirect has that article, SFX can retrieve the article from ScienceDirect.
