A library catalog lets you search for books, videos, and other materials in a library's collection. An online library catalog (also known as an "online catalog", "online public-access catalog", or "OPAC") is the electronic version of the old card catalog.
Hawaiʻi Voyager is the online library catalog system of the University of Hawaiʻi system. It can show you what's in the Leeward CC Library, and what's available in the libraries at other UH campuses. It will tell you which books are on the shelf and which books are currently checked out. You can check your library account to see what you have checked out, and you can renew items you have borrowed. You can also submit a variety of requests online, such as a request to have a book brought in for you from another UH library.
In addition to physical materials, the online catalog also lets you find electronic sources, like e-books in the ebrary collection of more than 82,000 books that can be read on your computer. You can also search ebrary through their own interface.
Voyager Mobile Interface: For smartphone users, the Hawaiʻi Voyager catalog has a mobile version of the web interface, designed for small screens. You can access the Voyager mobile interface in several ways:
- Go to the library's mobile website at http://www.leeward.hawaii.edu/lib/m (you can scan this QR code with your smartphone to get there).
- Go to regular Voyager web interface and click on the Mobile tab.
- Scan a QR Code that takes you directly to the mobile online catalog.
Another special feature is the New Books and Media Search, which lets you view a list of books and audiovisual materials that have recently been added to the library's collection.
Hawaiʻi Voyager is the University of Hawaiʻi's implementation of the Voyager integrated library management system, a product of the Ex Libris Group.
Catalogs for Other Hawaiʻi Libraries
The Hawaiʻi State Public Library System has their own online catalog system, that lets you search the collections of public libraries statewide.
The CARD Network is the online catalog of the State of Hawaiʻi's Legislative Reference Bureau Library, Supreme Court Law Library, and the City & County of Honolulu's Municipal Reference & Records Center.
