Cost of Attendance

What is Cost of Attendance?

Our Financial Aid Office uses an estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) to determine a student’s financial aid eligibility. We use the standard budgets, updated by the University of Hawaii’s Office of the Vice President of Academic Planning and Policy, which reflect the changes in our national cost of living figures and local community costs.

A student’s COA will include costs associated with only the credits that are applicable to their degree program at Leeward CC. Please see Course Program of Study (CPoS) for more information.

2023-2024 Cost of Attendance

The figures below reflect the average estimated cost of attending Leeward Community College as a full-time (12 credits) student for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters). Your actual costs may vary depending your living arrangements and lifestyle. Remember, personal expenses, transportation costs, housing and meal costs off-campus, are not amounts you pay the university but are included below to help you plan for these expenses. Use these estimated expense budgets to assist you in planning for enrollment at Leeward Community College.

Upon the student’s request, additional costs for books/supplies required for certain majors, documented child care, neighbor island travel allowance, and/or educational expenses related to disability that is not provided by other assisting agencies may be considered for the Federal Direct Loan Program.
