Tobacco Free

On July 10, 2018 Leeward Community College joined all University of Hawaiʻi campuses and facilities and became tobacco-free, joining more than 2,000 U.S. universities and colleges in an effort to provide a healthy environment for all students, faculty and staff.

Hawaiʻi state law now prohibits the use of tobacco products on all 10 UH campuses and university-owned facilities.

Fourth Year of Recognition

First Place Hawaii's Best 2018 Awarded by the Star Advertiser

For the fourth year in a row, two of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Hawaii’s People's Choice "Best of" Awards were awarded to Leeward Community College. The readers once again selected Leeward Community College as Hawaii’s Best Career and Technical Education for 2018 and Leeward Theatre was a finalist in Live Theatre category.

Military Friendly

For the seventh time, Leeward Community College earned the Military Friendly® School designation.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. For the first time, student survey data was taken into consideration for the designation. More than 1,400 schools participated in the 2018-2019 survey with 941 earning the designation.
